Level 1

24 x 90 Minute Module

The course is designed to help office employees become more confident when dealing in English internationally. It covers the basic tools required for this purpose.

The course embraces the following (and more as required):

  • Tenses and Grammar:
A thorough review of the basic tenses and grammar
  • Social Etiquette:
Introductions, greetings, good byes, small talk
  • Business Skills:
Presenting the company and products, job routines and responsibilities
  • Telephoning Skills:
Dealing with spelling and numbers, making arrangements, bookings, confirming
  • Writing Skills:
Emails & letter writing phrases, openings and endings
  • Communication Skills:
Describing objects and people, giving directions, apologizing, complimenting, responding

Level 2

24 x 90 Minute Module

This course is designed to help office employees whose English level is at lower intermediate level become more confident when dealing in English internationally. It covers the basic tools as in level 1, but expands on each topic. The students have the possibility of taking the „TOEIC" — Test of English for International Communication at the end of the course.

The course embraces the following (and more as required):

  • Tenses and Grammar:
A quick review
  • Social Etiquette:
Introductions, greetings, good byes, small talk
  • Business Skills:
Presenting the company and products, job routines and responsibilities: an ad hoc presentation, describing the organization, divisions, departments and personal responsibilities.
  • Telephone Skills:
Making and receiving calls — call preparation, taking messages, making appointments and reservations, dealing with complaints
  • Writing Skills:
Effective, but polite, emails and letters.
  • Communication Skills:
Giving instructions, directions, apologizing — spoken and written, advising, giving opinions
  • Intercultural Skills:
An insight into cultural diversity in business
